Plumbing software: connect the call to the completed job

Plumbing software should help the office book the work, send the right technician and complete the invoice without rebuilding the job in another system. The right buying question depends on whether you run a one-truck service business, a residential team with a dispatcher or a company balancing service and larger projects.

Choose the buying path

Start with our plumbing software comparison. It covers ServiceTitan, FieldCamp, Housecall Pro, Jobber, FieldEdge and Markate, with separate fit and limitation notes. Follow the dates and source links in the article before relying on a price or plan boundary.

Your constraintWhat to evaluate
The owner answers the phone and works in the fieldFast booking, clear mobile jobs, estimates and payment collection
Several technicians share a dispatch boardSkills, service areas, arrival promises, travel and reassignment
Existing accounting must remainExact records, sync direction, timing, exceptions and recovery
Commercial sites need repeat serviceCustomer/site hierarchy, asset history, agreement coverage and planned visits
Installation or project work competes with serviceCrew allocation, multi-day work, changes and job-cost visibility

Do not select a platform solely from a technician count. A small company with complex agreements can need more structure than a larger business with repeatable residential work.

Run one complete plumbing job

Use a leaking-water-heater call as a sample. Ask the vendor to book it with an arrival window, select a qualified technician, display the customer and equipment history, document the diagnosis, produce replacement options and record approval. Then complete the work, take payment and show what reaches accounting.

Repeat the exercise with an emergency call after the schedule is full. Ask which assignments change, who receives the update, and whether a dispatcher can reject a recommendation. A calendar that looks clear in a demo may hide manual work during an exception.

Evaluate AI after the operating workflow

Our Vapi and Make workflow guide examines a separate automation approach. A voice or workflow layer does not replace the job record or establish that an integration is maintained. Check ownership, failure handling, human escalation and the records written back to the operating system.

Use the demo checklist to compare vendors against the same work. Browse vendor profiles for product facts and related coverage. This hub organizes the existing evidence; it does not claim a new hands-on implementation test.
